I view myself as a Contemporary Impressionist oil painter, influenced by the great Impressionist painters, such as Sorolla, William Wendt, Edgar Payne, and more recently, Sebastian Capella, Azaro, and Ruo Li.

My artistic method is feeling-based; it seeks to capture the mood that resides within a single, fleeting moment in time. Whether I am painting a landscape, still life, or portrait, I weave the subject into the work through color and light. I am a light chaser–I prefer subjects that show a strong contrast between light and dark.

As my craft continues to evolve and progress, I tend to become less detailed with my brushwork, concentrating my attention on large masses of color.

In 2012, with the support of my husband, I quit my 15-year job as a graphic/web designer in order to launch a full-time career as a painter. Finally, I was pursuing a dream I’d had since childhood. Being a designer helped me to understand color and composition, and the importance of simplification. Looking back on my life, everything seemed to have shaped me into what I am today, what I always wanted to be: a painter.
